covid-19 and cu3a

covid-19 and the cu3a

Introduction

covid-19 has been an unprecedented event that has affected everyone in the United Kingdom and around the world.    On this website, we try and keep as much information as possible including previous year's Noticeboards, but due to the speed at which information was changing about covid-19, we had to remove and replace the information as it was released.

So rather than losing this information forever, we have created this page with links to the information as it was released.

The articles are in chronological order with the oldest at the bottom.

If you would like to contribute to this page, please contact webmaster@chalfontsu3a.org.uk

April 2022

This is intended to be the last post in this article.

We held our 7th-year Celebration Event at The Hub in Chalfont St Peter on the 5th of April 2022. Over 500 people attended including both members and non-members. Our music groups, including Old Time Musical, Singing for Pleasure and Yukele performed for us on the stage. We also have a demonstration of Flower Arranging.

Tony Darbyshire from the Photography group had put together a slide show which we displayed on the large screen

Many of your members had baked cakes and with tea and coffee, we kept everyone fed.

Following the government guidelines, the wearing of marks was optional and many people did not wear them.

15th July 2020

On the back of the successful Zoom AGM, we held our first Zoom Monthly Meeting.  This was a talk from Ian Keable about the History of Cartoons.  The turnout for the Zoom Monthly Meetings has slowly been growing and in January 2021 we hit our license limit of 100 participants.  The committee agreed to pay for the additional license so we can now accept up to 500 participants.   FYI: The license steps are 100, 500, and 1000.  The additional license is £48/month.  We pay £141.56/year for the Zoom Meetings Pro license which allows us to have unlimited meetings.   You can view the 2020 Monthly Meetings by clicking the link below:
