Armistice 1918-2018

Page last updated: Wednesday 11th November 2020

Because of the significance of 2018, which marked the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, we have decided to add a dedicated page to the Chalfonts U3A website for this momentous event.

The pictures on this page have been gathered from around the UK and the rest of the world. We will be adding pictures to the gallery when they are found, so please look back from time to time to see if any new ones have been added.

Photographs were taken at our own Remembrance Day parade on Sunday 11th November 2018 in Chalfont St Peter.

The link will take you to flickr.com so you can see all of the pictures.

100th Anniversary  - End of World War I

This is the time of year we remember those who gave their lives in the 1st World War, and the Royal British Legion begin their Poppy Appeal to raise funds to help those effected by all wars.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

CSP Community Library

Our local library, staffed by over eighty volunteers, is a vibrant and essential part of our community. Some of our Interest Groups have used the library since we began Chalfonts U3A in March 2015, and we thank them for all of their support.

This year they have decorated the library beautifully as part of the commemorations for the 100th Anniversary of the Great War.
