Chalfonts U3A Excursions Group
A Day in Greenwich Village
Monday 23rd March 2020
£19 per person
Known for its maritime history, Greenwich borough is home to the huge National Maritime Museum, the Cutty Sark, a restored 19th-century ship, the Queens House Art Gallery, and the classical buildings of the Old Royal Naval College. Overlooking peaceful Greenwich Park, the Royal Observatory is the site of the Greenwich meridian line.
An ideal place for a Chalfonts U3A excursion! It seems many of us have already been – but a very long time ago. What could be easier? Take the coach – far less tiring and have a great day out.
The fact sheet gives the information. In short, we’ll arrive for a “Highlights Tour” in the National Maritime Museum. Then there’s plenty of time to visit whichever attraction you want, have lunch, coffee/tea walk in the park or even take the cable car across the Thames! We do suggest you visit www.rmg.co.uk which is a very comprehensive website about Greenwich and the various museums. A quick google search “Visiting Greenwich” will also bring up a host of other sites to view. You may wish to get your ticket/s in advance or just be flexible and purchase on the day from the National Maritime Museum or the attraction itself.
If you would like to join us please complete and return the booking form as soon as you can. If you can’t print out the form - don’t worry – just write your name and details on a slip of paper and state whether you have paid by bank transfer or by cheque.
Places will be confirmed by email or phone if not on email.
On the day we suggest car parking in the Church Lane car park at £3.60 cash – exact change needed.
The coach will leave Church Lane, Chalfont St Peter at 9.15 and return at approx 6pm. We hope you’re able to join us.
