How the Internet Works
In the beginning…
On 6 August 1991, the World Wide Web went live to the world. There was no fanfare in the global press. In fact, most people around the world didn't even know what the Internet was. Even if they did, the revolution the Web ushered in was still but a twinkle in Tim Berners-Lee's eye.
This website explains a lot about the Internet. Not the lightest of reading but it certainly goes into the detail of how it all began.
The video gives a simple technical explanation of the Internet. No one person or corporation 'owns' the Internet.
How it all works is through collaboration and cooperation.
