Curry Club
For many years I have enjoyed the occasional Indian meal out with my wife and friends. “Occasional” being the operative word as my wife really prefers almost all other cuisines over and above a curry!
So just a simple key was needed as to how I can enjoy patronising our many local Indian Restaurants more regularly without my wife feeling obliged to join me!
To launch a new Interest Group: a U3A Curry Club united by a of love of tasty, perhaps spicy dishes from the Indian Sub-Continent.

Group Objectives
U3A Curry Club members united by a of love of tasty, perhaps spicy dishes from the Indian Sub-Continent.
This interest group will be more than just about the food but of meeting new folk, promoting good conversation, debate and discussion and banter. All bound by a common interest of … curry!
To meet once a month on a weekday evening that will vary dependent upon the chosen restaurant’s offer: normally a Tuesday or Wednesday. Meeting at 7.00pm
A typical meal will include popadoms with chutneys, a main, a side and rice, breads.
To allow each restaurant to provide their best service, each meeting will be limited to just 12 diners. This will also promote better interaction around the table. Those who miss out on a monthly meeting will get preference on the next available date.
Payment will be per person on the night direct to the restaurant. The food total will be divided evenly between the diners and now *makes an allowance for diners not having a starter course, and any individual adjustments for extra side dishes per person.
The drinks total will be apportioned by number/type of drinks taken by each person. The drinks section includes half pints, soft drinks, water, wine and spirits as well as the traditional pints of Cobra or Kingfisher beer!
Each member then pays the same food value* plus their number of drinks direct to the restaurant.
