Entertainment - More Information
Our objectives
To offer members a wide range of entertainment which may include concerts both modern and classical, matinee/evening performances at provincial and local theatres, and miscellaneous outings to venues where only smaller groups are permitted.
This new group runs separately from the Theatre, Garden Visit and Excursions groups.
Initially this entertainment group will be run jointly by Kate Trotman and or Val Smith and once established can then be handed over to a new convenor.
We hope many of you will be interested in becoming part of this new group and in anticipation some provisional bookings for “entertainment” have already been made for 2026. We welcome all suggestions for activities and venues!
How bookings are handled
All members of the Entertainment group are emailed with full information about each trip. Then a list is drawn up (with a reserve/waiting list if needs be).
Booking Procedure
Our administrator, will then confirm your place by email and give payment details.
Payment For Entertainment
All outings organised have to be self-funding. Therefore payment for the booking is up-front in full. This ensures that we do not incur any losses.
Reserve List
Once a trip is 'full' we place members names on to the Reserve List. If a member who has paid for their booking then withdraws their booking, we will automatically contact members on the reserve list to take up their place.
Refunds Policy for Cancelled Bookings
As you will appreciate we cannot guarantee that we can make refund/s unless we are able to find a replacement.
