Textiles & Crafts - More Information
Our Objectives
- To provide a meeting place for members who are interested in any form of textiles or crafts, to meet up and share knowledge and ideas
- To meet in a social setting so that we can stitch and chat
- To inspire members to try different skills by providing tutor led workshops or by attending local or national craft events
Ability Level
This is not an instructional group, so members usually have a range of sewing/knitting/crocheting/beading skills ‘under their belt’. This group provides an ideal opportunity to see a variety of craft skills being carried out and may encourage members to try out new skills. We are, above all else, friendly and willing to share our knowledge and take on new ideas.
Workshops & Events
Tutor led workshops will be organised throughout the year offering the opportunity to learn something new or to build upon existing skills. These are usually held in the CSP Community Centre and members can attend for a small cost to cover the tutor’s fees plus materials.
Occasionally, an outside event will be arranged. In the past these have included a visit to the Stitching Festival at the Business Design Centre in London, the Handmade Festival at Hampton Court, and the Bucks Craft Centre in Stoke Mandeville. Members will be notified of the costs involved for booking onto an event and payment will be required in advance once places are confirmed.
If this appeals.....do come along to see what we're up to.
Room Charge
Room hire costs are covered from the central Chalfonts u3a funds.
