Denise Beddows, author of the 'Misbourne Murder Mysteries' series, explores this increasingly popular sub-genre of crime, looking at a variety of series, including SJ Bennett's 'Her Majesty Investigates';  Richard Osmond's 'Thursday Murder Club'; Robert Thorogood's 'Marlow Murder Club'; Steph Broadribb's 'Retired Detectives' Club', and many more.

She examines the reasons for cosy crime's burgeoning appeal and suggests reasons why 'Midsomer Murders' and many of Agatha Christie's novels do not actually fit the conventions of the genre.
